Indeed I did not realise there was any other way til I came across Nigella’s Victoria Sponge a while back. I’m sure your cake was highly appreciated by the Birthday Boy.
Small cages for wild animals are always disturbing. Especially when I imagine there would a lot of native bird life in the vicinity anyway.
