What a cool how to vote card, Lana. Glad you got your 'fill' of treats from memory lane, and sorry that your Dad is not going too well. It's hard for sure. Back to your own bed and lots to catch up ...zzzz for one.
I agree with you about single issue voters, especially the self serving ones. I am concerned about the climate, the overall economy, defence, all of the things listed in your Mums for refugees post, and the overall decency of the leadership teams of the parties. It’s a matter of trying to find who best aligns with your overall values. Thanks for the book recommendation, I will look out for it.
Yes, here again!! Firstly, I hope your Dear Dad is as okay as he can be. Making a visit to see him all about the snacks is something I can relate to. My in-laws are, or should I say were, English. The visits back when Granddad was in a care home, after Granny died, revolved around visits to Sainsbury’s and Al supervising the choosing of the crisps and sweets. Ten years of visits and I think my kids could lead you around one particular store like expert shoppers!
That “how to vote” card is still so perfect. Putting the Liberals last is a mantra around here. My eldest is voting for the first time this year - and I hope she’s proud of being able to exercise her democratic right.
Mother Tongue is on the list for one of my book clubs, so I’m glad it comes with your stamp of approval too.
All such important considerations for sure - it’s also important to vote as if you yourself are part of a persecuted minority - the Jewish people right now in Australia … if we are not for each other who will be ?
Yes, the Greens will never get my vote again, but I would never choose a party whose ethics and core values I do not believe in because their leader pandered to my community.

Love, as always, Denyse x

Take care, travel safely x
Certainly … but what of the leader who abandons our community /befriends our enemy / and allows our lives to be threatened.
I don’t feel abandoned by our leader. I must vote with my conscience
So many things I could point to but how about I just say - Sydney opera house
I think the point of my post remains - I am not voting for a government based on one issue alone.
All such important considerations for sure - it’s also important to vote as if you yourself are part of a persecuted minority - the Jewish people right now in Australia … if we are not for each other who will be ?
